Wondering if any of you have pics of your door rebuilds? The bottom of my door is just wood, no aluminum on the bottom? Does not seem right? I took it off and rebuilt the wooden frame, putting it back together but also trying to imrpve if I can, as well as try to figure out the bottom door sill.
Does any one have closeup pictures of their Shasta doors? Especially the bottom, and or their rebuild process?
Thanks!

Your door should have metal covering the bottom wood. You should be able to get a local metal shop to make sharp bends the correct width to fit over the panel and metal. Just copy what a Shasta door looks like. Here's a picture of my Cardinal door with the skin going on: This shows the metal trim from the metal shop: Here is my Bellwood door: I took the inside panel off and inspected the framing for rot and necessary repairs. It's pretty easy, there's not much to a door. Here is the clean frame. Note the metal gently pried up to facilitate installing the new wood panel: Insulated with foam, here is the panel in place. The edges folded in nicely: Amber shellac made it shine: Some doors need a little more disassembly, but they are not difficult.
