OK so I have a vintage Ace. The rims are rusted and the tires should be replaced. The tires say ST205/75 D15. I took pictures and when to my local trailer store which is 2 miles away. good yes?? no. The woman that works there, who knows her stuff said that my rims are actually car rims. I have included a picture. IS this true??? SO then she gives me a price to replace Rims and tires , size FT75/15 , for $169 per tire!!!!! is this the going rate? seems like a lot. Is there a place on line to order tires and rims that is more reasonable? ? the Price above is without mounting them too s1367.photobucket.com/user/ndpap/media/Ace%20tires/tire2_zpsdf0f2870.jpg.htmlplease let me know if the like to the photo doesn't work!!! thanks for your help

Most of these trailers used Ford wheels. You need to buy trailer tires not car tires , scroll down a ways and find the topic on tires study it and its links and you will have better knowledge of what you need. But do not buy tires that are not trailer rated. Also that sounds a little high.

In addition you need to have an idea of what your trailer will weigh loaded ready to go. Then make sure you buy tires that exceed that weight load rating If I am reading your post right you currently have 8 ply rated trailer tires. I personally prefer radial trailer tires but they will cost more than belted tires

You do not need special trailer rims. You need someone to install trailer tires on your current rims. I'm not surprised you were quoted that price if it was for rims and tires. I paid around $90 each for my tires installed.

My wheels looked just like those. My local tire shop (Les Schwab) sent then off and had them sandblasted and powder coated for $25 each. No need to buy new ones.

We bought new trailer tires about 2 months ago. $250 for the pair, mounted.

I agree with the above. The only time you can't re-use the rims it when they are rusted thru with holes in them... yes I have a couple. LOL.
