I took the wings off my recently acquired 1962 Shasta Deluxe, and noticed they were spray painted silver... I wasn't having any of that, so I stripped the spray paint, sanded with 1000Grit, and then re-polished one of the wings. What a difference!! :-O

dochalpin,
Did you have any sort of tape over the edges of your wings? What do you plan on sealing the wings with?

Hey Ben, no tape. It's all aluminum and therefore can be polished. The polish I used, is somewhat of a "sealer/protectant" in itself.

Interesting. The metal on the inside of our wings is textured and not like your. The edges had some weird tape on them too.

Did you have any kind of spacer to keep them off the body so they don't ride on the j-channel?

Any thoughts on what you'll use? I'd like to reattach my wings but in a better manner than they were before.
