Installing the subfloor. The original floor was 1/2" ply. We went with a layer of 3/8" and a layer of 1/4". I wanted to minimize the prep work needed before laying the vct.

Cut down the tile to 9". Then had to decide on the layout. I really liked the diamond layout, but it would require more blue tiles, which we could only get by the case. The finished product. We ended up using white 9x12 tiles and scraps of blue tiles under the gaucho. We did something similar under the front benches.

Time to finish reconstructing the walls. On the curb side wall, the PO had reframed the door out of square, so deciphering the correct size of the door was lots of fun. Finally quit second guessing myself and just screwed it all together. I have to rebuild the door anyway, so I can figure out something to make it work. Routing out the windows on the street side wall.

Shellac, shellac, and more shellac. The original plan was spray on 1 coat of Sealcoat, 1 coat of amber shellac, and lots of clear shellac. On the test pieces, I didn't really care for how the amber shellac was laying down and doing 2 coats of Amber ended up being way darker than I wanted. Ended up doing 1 coat of Sealcoat and 5 coats of clear. The paneling is only stapled on at this point. Decided to wait until the finish was applied to add the twisty nails.

Not sure how its going to go when its time to add the new panels to the walls, but I'll figure something out. I see you figured it out and are moving right along. The new birch looks so much better than the original paneling. Looking good.

Looking good but don't leave to many things to figure out later, make a plan and follow it or it can bite you in the rear, or the wallet which ever hurts the most.

The walls are up! While this really only involves a handful of screws, it feels like a huge step.
