I am getting the rest of the electric done on the Trotwood and am down to wiring up the running lights. These have the original teardrop running lights, which have single element bulbs in the sockets. Unfortunately the bulbs are completely rust in the sockets and I have broken every single bulb off try to remove them. SO!- does anyone have a connection they would share on where to get these small sockets . They are the type that press into the hole in the back and the 6 prongs spring fit in the hole. The bulbs are rather small which was needed so they didn't touch the glass lens. These atre also single wire bulbs and the light housing becomes the ground. Thanks..

Any NAPA, or "convenience" auto parts store like O'Reilly, Autozone, etc. will have replacement sockets.

Well not any, I've been to O'Reilly and Autozone so far and neither have the small ones that will allow the bulb to fit inside the glass teardrop lens. As far as the VTS ones go at $10.00 a piece times 6 plus shipping there has got to some cheaper, somewhere.

Another option may be to refit it with an LED setup to replace the original socket. You can then use the original everything except the bulb, and keep the original look, but use less voltage draw.

Thanks , frankly I don't care for the LED lights for running lights plus it's the added expense of all new housings and new LED bulbs.I would think these older housings have been in use for 60 years ,someone still has/makes them, I am just asking if anyone here knows who that is... Maybe it's time ( -35 here) to head to our old time NAPA truck and auto store and get in their catalogs.

True about VTS shipping. You can have a small order or a big order and the shipping will be the same. It's best to order a lot of things at one time from them. Sorry that's not a good option. These lights are frequently on Ebay, too. I'm in the same boat with my tag light socket but I'm hoping the auto parts store will have one.

You might be able to clean up the existing sockets by carefully collapsing the bulb socket enough to remove what is left of the bulb base. Take a small round punch grinding the end at a 45 degree angle and lightly tap it between the socket and the base but first break all of the remaining glass/ceramic portion of the bulb out of the base. Once you collapse the base then take a small/thin pair of long nose pliers and remove it. next use a Dremel tool to clean up the socket inside. I would then replace the contact and wire with new available at NAPA or buy a cheap light and pirate the needed parts. this process takes a little time but how bad do you wish to keep it original. Good luck and fun. I have salvaged many antique sockets in this manor.

I like the idea of LED in the tag light. I had not thought of that. I did find LED bulbs for my other lights, had them in my cart, and then they were unavailable when I went to purchase. But I might still go LED all the way with bulbs.

By the way, The teardrop lights are no longer available anywhere. That's a Pathfinder 662. They look great but tend to leak. I always put gaskets on mine.
Unfortunately, trailers with rotted/rusted 662s are going to be hard to find replacements. They are wide with a triangle pattern, other lights don't exactly cover the foot print...
Sad to see them go despite the issues.

As expected I was able to go to NAPA look through their parts catalog , find what I wanted and purchase them. Thanks all.
