Forgot this...the biggest battery saver is a really well insulated top-loading ice box.

I thought about a plug in 3/10/50 battery charger, but the end the PD4045 in our 66 Safari works so well, and because I have money growing on trees (;>) we went with the PD4045 again. If we camp where 120 is available then great , if not, so sweat!! No water heater here we just warm it on the stove.

1. Resale value. People want campers they can plug into power poles and have lights and DC sockets. I know you think it's your trailer and you are going to keep it forever but you will eventually grow old and sell or pass it down. 2. Well, I just came home from a music gig and I'm a little tipsy and can't remember 2. But there's a 2 there somewhere. Responses to your 2 comments: 1. Susie… the way I'm setting this up, you definitely will be able to just plug in to AC at a campsite and all of the 12v (and 110v) circuits will work; that's what the converter will do. All the electrical amenities will be the same both on and off grid… that's the idea. And as far as me getting old and not being able to step up into the trailer anymore… well, I'm working hard on delaying that day as long as possible 2. Hope you had a nice night out!

When we'd anchor out ("dry camping") we'd just be careful monitoring battery condition …... "Dry camping"…. I think you mean "Wet camping"
