HI. I have 2 shasta campers and on both of them the wheel on the jack( I hope that is what you call it) is rusted on. We have tried everything from liquid wrench to PB blaster. with no luck. Anybody have any tips.I'm am also I little confused on what part should come off. On one camper the whole wheel is stuck on and on the other it looks like part of the wheel is off and a flat "foot" is left. I'm going to going to go out and take some pics and see if I can post them. Thanks

50/50 mix of kerosene & automatic transmission fluid make a great lube/rust eater. Or Kroil. Also if it doesn't come off then, (jack off the ground first) apply torch, then heat & beat.

Some jacks have a flat foot plat instead of a wheel and it may be welded on. If all else fails on the jack with a wheel if it just has a slip collar that is rusted fast you can try heating it use a propane torch with Map Gas cyl., The Map Gas is much hotter than regular propane. As you apply heat try taking it loose but don't twist it out of it track. Probably better off to tap straight down with a hammer. pictures will be a great help as to what to do.

if you figure out what part for sure is suppose to come off, and can take it to a shop an impact wrench works wonders, the constant sharp jarring will vibrate it loose.

Here are the pics of the jack wheels. The first one is the 63 airflyte. As you can see it came in 2 pieces and I'm not sure if that is how it should be or if it has broken off. The 2nd pic is the 62 compact and that one is all in one piece, just all rusted. We are going to try heating them up when the weather cools but not sure about the 63 wheel. Any suggestions? Our Airflyte ('61) just has a straight pipe with nothing at the bottom, I think your wheel assembly came apart.

The top one is broke they should both slide off except for the rust build up, I would jack the trailer up and block it so t can't fall then with wheel off the ground I would heat the outer ring and pound it off if you have access to an air hammer the rapid stroke vibration well help but it can be done with a regular hammer don't twist on it very hard or you will ruin the jack. If jack doesn't work now just cut them off and buy new unit.
