Easy question for you veterans: PO screwed these hideous tail lights on to MY Shasta (well I guess it used to be his). Good news is that he saved original birthday cake lights. When I have this painted, I'm assuming the body guy can fill these holes and flatten so that you can't tell they were there. Pls advise if you think this is the case. Also, I understand this skin does funny things when removed. Any advice on proper storage until I'm ready to button her back up would be appreciated. I think I read that bent edges need to be flattened so it doesn't crack or oil can. Pls verify and add you 2 cents

Just replace the four foot panel, for about $125. Much easier, much better, and a permanent repair.

I wonder if they could be soldered or aluminum welded?

You can fill them with JB Weld if you can't afford the new panel or the shipping on a new panel. I used the white/gray in the middle putty type. It's not invisible but it's better than holes. Put aluminum waterproof tape behind the holes before you fill them.

Like John said, just replace the panel. You'll end up doing more damage by trying to fix this one. As far as storage is concerned, if you decide to keep this one you just lean it up against the wall. The edges are sharp so pets and kids are not safe around it. The old lamps are "wedding" cake lamps. Birthday cakes are flat on top.
