Hi all, Getting to the point of pulling the trigger on a heater for the trailer, and of course, the Olympian Waves seem to be the choice. I had eyed the Propex heaters for a while, but man...3x the price. I live in a valley in Colorado that is one of the coldest places in the lower 48 states...seriously. Not that I'm going to use the trailer when it's -20 F, but it can snow in July. My dilemma is the Wave 3 or Wave 6. I recently had the inside redone and the walls have more insulation. It's a standard Lo-Liner layout (see pics) and would probably put the heater on the closet wall next to the door. The Wave 6 would barely fit on that wall and would probably have to make some magic happen to make it fit especially with the recess kit. The 3 fits, but I wonder if it's enough. Typically...the seating area is only 2 1/2-3 feet away from that wall. Also..what kind of line are you guys running under the trailer, into the closet for the hookup? Copper, black pipe, plastic? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!

I love Wave heaters. Ideas below:
One of my Loliners came with a ThermX, about the size of a 6.
A Wave 6 can always be run on LO. The 3 on high can't be turned any higher. Just a thought.
Also, ventless heaters tend to put out a lot of condensation in cold weather. (35 and below) If you are really going to camp in colder times, consider a vented heater. Costs more in the long run, but will be more efficient and no water running down the windows.. Really.

Hi Susie... Thanks the inside came out better than I hoped. Long story, but it's all shellaced birch and had John Watkins in Basalt CO put it back together for me. He did a stellar job. Wiring, plumbing, heat left on the inside...exterior paint in the spring.

Hi Vikx, Thanks for the feedback. I've followed pictures of some of your heater installs...that's kind of what I'm thinking. The Propex HS2800 is the holy grail of what I want, but base price is $795. I like this trailer, but maybe not that much. So when you are running a propane line for the closet install it seems like it must be under the decking in most trailers. What kind of line are you using? There's no way to run a hidden line through walls, cabinets to reach the closet in the Lo-Liner. Thanks.

Propane lines should be exposed but are sometimes run thru walls. Don't like that and have discovered why, the hard way. Grrr.
Always keep the original copper if you can; quality stuff.
Most of the time, new 3/8 OD copper tubing under the trailer and elbowed up into the closet (or heater area). Cover with split loom to protect from road debris. New tubing is not as tough or thick walled as original, so needs the extra.
Loliners are particularly difficult because they are LOW to the ground. It may be easier/safer to run from the stove line across above the axle than to adjust for the floor bump.
The copper I have available here is "refrigeration line", also used in new RVS. Not the toughest. Under the trailer, Black Iron pipe is used and the copper is teed off of that. Original thick walled copper is fine, too.

Thanks Vikx. You're a wealth of knowledge. I'm leaning toward the Wave 6. I'll let you know what happens.

Hi all, Wanted to share this. I bought the Wave 6. Haven't installed permanently, but have been using it from the LP stub for the stove to give a little heat while I do some wiring and plumbing. The picture shows the outside temp on bottom..that's 4.9 F, and the inside temp above. I had to turn it down on low because I was getting too warm. I think it'll be OK.
