We were fortunate enough to score a great deal on some marmoleum flooring, a remanent, and it's enough to do our counter and table in the 49 Trotwood. But with this comes the issue of adhesive to install it with. The recommended adhesive only comes in 1 or 2 gal pails, enough to do several hundred square ft. We only need to glue down a 28"x42" counter and a 30"x36" table. SO... any one found an cheap alternative to buying $50.00 worth of glue for a $10 dollar job?

If you're doing only the table and counter, it won't be subject to the wear and tear of a floor... Why not use a decent quality floor glue that IS available in qt. size? Also research contact cement. Might work.

I buy small remnants of Marmoleum from a local flooring shop. They loan me their unused five gallon pail of glue, and I use what I need and return it. It does not take much, and if you buy a gallon it will surly be dried up by the next project.
It's REALLY STICKY stuff, lay some wood doll sticks down to keep the material from touching the glue until you get it correctly positioned. You only get one chance.
I've done table tops, and counters with it and it works fine.
