A girl online, bought a Glendale trailer of the same vintage as mine. We knew ours had bunks because the windows were there, but all evidence had been ripped out. Here is a photo of how the bunks fold up in a Glendale. I like the bunk rail that is used to keep it in place, and then drops into the slot when the bunk is open.. to keep your kid in place. I don't think we will restore the bunk in ours.. but it's nice to see what it looked like. Are Shasta bunks the same design?

Interesting option. Was contemplating a kid net, but a nice, finished guard would certainly look nicer

Similiar, but not exactly like the wooden bunks in the second generation compacts and some of the larger Shasta models. The way it is held up is interesting.
I'll find a pic of mine to compare/contrast.
In all 35 pics of my trailer, I don't have one pic of the bunk folded up. Hmm.

as a kid I had to sleep in a top bunk and it was always so hot. The one night that we spent in our 65 on the way home with it, my son attempted to sleep in the top bunk. Even though it NH in October, the high for the day was 77 and it didn't cool down much at night, either. Shasta's have a small window in the bunk area, but I had it duct taped to keep the panes from falling out. My son aborted his attempt to sleep in the bunk for two reasons. One, it was much cooler below, and two, he kept hitting his head when he was trying to get situated. It was not ideal for a 13 year old, but even a small child wouldn't have much room. It does offer some alternative storage space. The dog really liked it, except he couldn't get down.

I'm actually interested in adding a bunk to the Corvette. We are adding a small window hoping it will allow better air flow up there. I slept in a bunk with my sister as a child, it was a tight fit but we thought of it as a great adventure so high up there. I do remember appreciating the window on each end. I've looked at the Shasta bunks and was planning on using that type of design but this looks interesting, although it's hard to see on my computer. Is the lighter panel holding the base of the bunk up? Do you happen to know what year? Ours had the canvas/pole bed, not too comfortable with my 4 yr. olds ability to stat in it. Didn't the Shasta's fold twice on piano hinges?

This one is on piano hinges. You are seeing the cushion in the front with the folding section behind. This one is from a 1964
