Worked on the rear, lower wall today. Needs a bit of tweaking but I think it'll be fine. what u see is the new frame I built leaning against the old frame and paneling. New panel gets attached tomorrow. It's a good weekend.

Good progress RJ. See it doesn't really take all that long. Thanks Larry. Been working on this one pretty diligently. It made an enormous difference watching your vids. Without them, I'd be in a world of hurt. As always, thanks for what you do.

Dot's tail went on today. I musta done OK as everthing lined up pretty decent. Had to side step a few challenges (nip, tuck, sand, bend, etc.) but the old girl is well on her way to being whole again Here's a few pics.. Thanks for looking.

Sung to the tune of "We've got spirit yes we do, we've got spirit.... how about you!". Ahh, the good old days when school spirit was a reality..
Well, I've coined a different version for my friends at VTT. "I've got wires yes I do, I've got wires, how about you!"
Started crawling around (on my back mostly) under the Shasta with a steel brush and stripping wheel on my electric drill tonight. Need to clean up the metal frame, spray it with rust killer/sealer, paint it, and possibly spray some undercoating on all that is underneath the old girl "before" I run the new wires. Yikes, I was met with this towards the underside front of Dottie. Not a bad job really, if you think large wire nuts, incorrect colors, and the lack of a J box is an acceptable way to wire a trailer Fun times........

After several nights of grinding away on the frame surface rust I caved and decided I wanted to see some "measurable results". Had the road side tire off Dot grinding away on that side this afternoon and figured I'd do some rust converting/flat black painting before I put the tire back on tomorrow and get after the other side (get a little nervous, even with the four corner jacks under her to leave the tire off). I've knocked down the surface rust to mostly the metal from Dot's tail to about mid trailer and have been working on the road side wheel well, brake housing, springs for a few nights.. Washed, dried em up did a bit of rust converting/painting. Thanks for looking. RJ
Still have a long journey on the underside......................

Nothing fancy the last week, just a lot of grinding, sanding, etc. under Dot. Getting her underside prepped for final rust converting, paint, and under coating. Factory tar film was not fun to get off but got the majority of it sanded down to a manageable level (what were those people thinking). Will do some dust blowing, soapy cleaning, taping, and final prep tomorrow in anticipation of final surface rust kill and spraying the underside over the next few days. Gotta say, I'm anxious to finish the underside and move on to the re-wiring mission. Thanks for looking. RJ

Flaming jack stands, haha!!! Heck ya
Experienced a small setback last night. Mrs. RJ has "informed" me that the rear bumper and tongue need to be white, not black (I had already started prepping them for a black paintjob). Should have checked with the job supervisor before I chose a color scheme on my own... who woulda thunk it :-/Working on those today while I wait for the new respirator to arrive in the big brown truck.
Edit: While on a short lunch break (took today off from work to get some trailer work done), the big brown truck came with new trailer stuff! Woo hoo, a new respirator, extra filters, and a big ol box of staples..
