To start we are talking about my 1957 Pathfinder. Need help with the color of the wires for the stop/tail light wires. Lets start with the wires in the trailer. I have 4 wires that come up from underthe trailer. They are Green,Red,Orange and black . Street side tail light has Black,Green and Red Curb side has Green and Orange The green wire is the same wire on both sides.
Tail light housings. Street side two bulb housing Curb single bulb housing
Street side Red wire went to Black on trailer wiring Yellow went to Green on trailer Green (single filiment bulb) went to Red on trailer Curb side Yellow went to Green on trailer Red wire went to Orange on trailer
The green wire (above) also went to licance plate and running lights It looks to me that green might have been tail and running lights Red and orange maybe turn and stop
What I don't understand is the Black wire is not on the curb side.
Due to some unwanted rot I think I can fish a White wire (ground ) from both taillights back to frame . My new tail lights have 3 wires black tail, red stop and turn and White ground HELP I am lost

To answer my own question I am starting over fresh with a new molded 7 pole conector and wire on the front so I guess I can wire them any I want but I still want your advice.

I'll try to help.
First of all, the green wire seems to be your TM (tail and markers). It goes to each tail and to the clearance lights. The Ground always goes to the frame, so you know which wire is Ground. I always use White for new grounds.
So, you need LT and RT. They are there: Orange is RT, Red is LT. AND: they should be tested. Ground a portable battery to the frame and touch the orange wire at the tongue. The bright turn on the Curb/right should glow. Do the same to the red: the bright turn on the street/Left should glow.
The Black is probably an extra TM wire. Some trailers had a single ceiling light that operated only when the vehicle parking lights were on. That wire went from a TM light into the trailer to the ceiling light.
All of the above being said, COLOR DOESN'T MATTER. It's what the wire does that you're looking for.
Tow Wiring is very simple: GROUND, TM and Turns. If you look under the trailer, you will see what color the manufacturer intended for each purpose. (I'm doubting the orange here, but maybe)
