Ok, I fell for a shasta frolic parked out in a field. Bringing it home in a couple of days. I can't find much out about that model, it is a newer one 1972. Has a red stove, all original details as far as I could tell. Found this site and have been pouring over it - so much great information.
I know nothing about campers/trailers....
Question: do I need to buy jacks to stabilize it/keep it level? Or could I just use cement blocks and wood?

Please read about towing safety and proper hitch procedures plus tow vehicles weight towing recommendations. Stabilization jacks are lighter easier to handle and relatively inexpensive (shop Lowes), cement blocks will work fine if you are leaving it sit permanently in one location other wise they are a pain to deal with.

yes, I have to learn about towing and hitch, etc. I have a friend who drives semis who will go with me to pick up the camper and get it back to my place. As it is getting close to winter here, I'll be parking it for the winter. I think the only thing I'll be able to start doing is getting it cleaned up and learning about it - and tarping the heck out of it til warmer weather and any roof work. thanks, I'll look for stabilization jacks.

Read about winterizing, too. You don't want burst pipes when you uncover it in the Spring.

acck! good call, I wouldn't have thought about that at all. Think this camper hasn't been used in a couple of decades, but I will be sure there isn't any water in pipes/toilet/holding tank. thank you so much for the reminder! heading to look for winterizing info on this site right now

If you live in the snow don't forget to cover the information about using stand up braces inside for snow loads on the roof. Basically a T or two inside that will go to the ceiling and support the extra weight of the snow.

In Craigs List I have noticed that they are all Shastas. Even the Airstreams..... LOL...

you are right! its a frolic, I was confused when I was researching it and found "shasta frolic". Kind of relieved it is a frolic since I'm learning shasta's aren't always built the best. Course, frolic could be the same. I just started a new thread with pics because I brought it home yesterday. So Much To Learn!
and I know it is a frolic because of the labels on the camper. and the little metal tag. now if I could just find the vin ( I know I know should not have gotten it without the vin and a title)

I thought you might have a Frolic rather than a Shasta but I wasn't going to say anything until I saw it. Late model Shastas have additional names like Daisy, Phoenix and Flyte. I don't know them all so you had me wondering if they had a Frolic, too.
