Crazy price but I like the trailer. Did they have avocado green stoves in the 60's? Hmm.

LOL,....Just think about where the location is?
Your looking at a "dealer ad", AND it's in the "Santa Barbara" Craig's List.
The central coast of California is got to be one of the most expensive real estate areas in the entire country.
NEVER EVER buy a trailer that might have been used at the ocean! Everything will be "at the best" rusted from salt spray, and for sure the windows will be corroded, making them very difficult to sand and polish.
The High Desert dry area, or the hot Central Valley farming area, is your friend. The worse that happens is the rubber rots, and it all has to be replaced anyway.

Ick. They did have avocado stoves in the early 70s. But this one is in really poor shape. $1500 seems like a lot for a frame-up rebuild. Even in crazy California.
"This Retro Trailer Is A Beauty!! With a little Love she will shine!" It's almost criminal that a dealer would say anything like that. It needs a LOT of "Love," about 400 hours and many thousands of dollars before it will do anything close to shining.

The ad says: 1960's Shasta Loflyte - $1575 (Atascadero)
The interior looks like it could be late 60's to me, but not the stove. I'm no expert on these. Just wonder if this "dealer" actually knows what he has. Loflyte people, tell us what you think.
My research states that they were first manufactured in 1969, so I suppose it could be a 60's with an avocado stove. Still, the sagging front is dead give away even without an ice pick. Crazy price.
The Compact in Richmond for $1600 that was in awful shape apparently sold as that ad has been deleted.

I'll tell you what I think, and I have never owned a Loflyte...... I would tell you but no one cares anyway. I believe that the timeline found the demise of the brown appliances in about 1965, the white ones followed for a couple of years and then the yellow and avocado were the colors of choice.
@ Hamlet... That is EXACTLY what one would expect a dealer to say! Think "used car salesman".......I would never expect a private owner to sell anything with a pitch that sounded like that. They OBviously do not know what they are selling, nor do they have any idea of the actual condition. Pitching a price that high is hopeful that someone will pay it. I think the next phase is fishing for a "market price"....

I would look away from the big cities in California. It seems like the small towns are where the action is. If you're willing to go out to the desert, has John suggested, you will do much better. I bought a 1962 Shasta compact in Grand Junction and there was very little what are damage.
As far as the price is concerned, $1500 seems like the starting price for a good project trailer on the East Coast. But even at that price, they seem to be few and far between.
Keep looking, you'll find something great eventually

I believe this trailer to be pre 68, lacking the upper clearance lights front and rear....
It's a mess; the front sag SusieQ mentioned is bad and the street side wall appears to be bulging. (stove is slanted down) Inside paint is sloppy and hard to strip. I think $1500 is way high.

I've had Awfulcado appliances in 67 Shastas and Aristocrats. I don't believe any of the earlier trailers had them. Most of my mid 60s units have turquoise, a few brown. Have yet to have a white stove after 1957 or so...
Interesting differences: 66 Aladdin had an coral stove 64 SCS has grey appliances 58 Cardinal has a yellow Princess stove (they've also had mint green and two tone yellow and white, along with solid white and solid brown) Many Shasta Deluxes had a stainless steel stove top, very classy Princess.

The two tone yellow and white is my fave. If I were to do a glamper, I would create a whole interior scheme around a yellow and white stove, and of course the exterior paint job would also be the same yellow and white. Did I mention I heart yellow and white?! Wish they made yellow and white cats...

Would a pale orange and white cat work???
I like the mint green stoves the best. Don't have one, either.
