Hi All! Just wondering (even though I am no where near this point) what is a good proportionate size awning for my 1964 Shasta Compact? Since the camper is 10 feet long, I know I am restricted to that. Would love to hear any recommendations & tips on this!

If it were me, I'd have two. One that is 8' X 8' so it is enough area for sitting outside, and another that would be about 4' X 6'...large enough to shelter the doorway, just for a quick setup on a quick weekend trip.

I like the idea of having 2! Do they need to be staked out differently or would you just use the same poles/ropes?

It doesn't take any longer to set up a small one than a larger one, for just that reason, you still need 2 poles and whatever ropes you're going to use to set it up. As for size. I would get it long enough to extend the length of the flat part of your awning rail (before the curve starts) so that you can get a nice flat awning. So just measure that area. 8ft is a good length for it to project out.

We always use 8ft x 8ft. Its big enough for an outside sitting area but not too big to pack up and tote around.
