Hi Folks, I have a solid exterior door with no window in it. Thinking of going with a nautical theme, so I was toying with the idea of putting a round, port-hole like window in the door. The only problem is I have no idea how I would do this. Has anyone ever done this before, or even replaced a round window? Just wondering how the door frame is buttressed.. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank You, Portajohn

A lot depends on what type of window you purchase if it is designed to fit in the thickness of your door the worst case is you would have to be pull the door apart and add wood framing in the area you wish to install the window, then cut the round opening and install the window. Shouldn't be to difficult.
