Hi everyone! I just purchased a 1972 Aristocrat Lo-Liner and have a few questions about the clearance and marker light wiring. Currently the brake, signal and tail lights are working on the trailer. Upon inspection there appear to be 3 wires entering the rear compartment on the drivers side that are not attached to anything. I am thinking these must be for the clearance and marker lights but not sure. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure here, either. One would probably be a ground, then marker lights, and the other??? Maybe a hot for the 12 volt ceiling lights.
Post a photo, that may tell us more.

I will try to get a picture tonight. I don't see any wires coming from the same area on the passenger side so I am not sure. All the interior lights and plugs work so I am thinking they have to be the marker/clearance lights since they are the only thing not working.

Still need to get pictures but we took our maiden voyage and I didn't get around to it. While I thought all the lights were working, they are a little wonky. Brake lights and right turn signal work, left turn signal has both lights flashing and when you turn on the headlights the left tail light doesn't work at all (including turn signals). Think I am going to have to take it somewhere and have it looked at.

Start your diagnostic test by making a 20' jumper wire with clips on each end. Connect one end of the wire to the white ground wire coming from the seven way plug into your electrical connection box. Take to other end back to a tail light having a problem and touch the ground wire to the base of the bulb.
The reason your lights are acting up is because electricity will seek the path of least resistance, and it's currently trying to find a ground through another bulb filiment.

Listen to John he is telling what is wrong and how to find the problem. most likely the lights are trying to use the trailer skin for a ground and that is not dependable unless all of siding is bonded together and fastened to the circuit ground wire that plugs into the tow vehicle.

I have NO experience with doing anything electrical and I am pretty nervous. Is this really something I should try myself or take it in? I had to get a new flat 4 plug for the Yukon and managed that fine but it really was just matching colors. BTW - Even though your instructions look simple, it's as if I am reading Greek.

If you have no experience, and do not desire to learn, take it to an electrician.
You need to have a "basic understanding" of how electrical current works in order to diagnose and repair it. Fixing the problem is always easy, but diagnosing it is sometimes frustrating.

Here is a picture of the wiring I assume runs to the marker/clearance lights since those are the only electrical things not working.
