I've tried to read all I can find here and elsewhere...we have a 1962 Shasta airflyte with both 110 and 12v. I want to add an outlet, preferably w/ usb capability somewhere in the camper...and don't know where to tie in to 110 system. hell I don't even know what we have in the way of service. the plug on outside works w/ standard extension cord, there's a grey breaker box inside. that's the extent of what I know. help?

I would try to find a licensed electrician to help you out. What you want to do isn't difficult but can cause problems if not done correctly. Most of the time, the original wiring is OK in our vintage trailers. Exceptions, of course. The easiest "add on" would be in the front upper cabinet. Come off the light and insert an outlet box nearby. A short piece of Romex from the light powers the outlet. (Hopefully grounded) Use a sturdy backer board: And an Old Work box: (has the little ears to secure) Here, you see the light wiring ready to attach to the new box: Note: if you do not know what you are doing and/or don't feel comfortable, please contract a licensed electrician for your addition. One little mistake can kill.
