Hi everyone. Without taking and getting my trailer weighed (since it's all torn apart right now) I was wanting to get a good estimate from some other trailer owners on it's weight. I've got a 1969 19 ft Northwest Coach (about 24 ft including tongue). It's got a single axle with 6 leaf springs and 14.5-6 lug wheels. I've read that most 6 bolt axles are usually 5200-6000 lb rated but I couldn't find anything on it. Does anyone have a similar size trailer and know the dry weight and tongue weight so I have an idea of how much mine is? I'm guessing its 4000-4500 dry and a 400-500 lb tongue weight. All inputs are appreciated.
Thanks, Mark

Check the weight capacity listed on your tires that will give you at least a maximum weight that it could be. Most 24 foot trailers had tandem axles so I have no idea what yours would weigh but being a single axle I would guess in the 2400 to 3500 pound range with a 250 to 350 pound tongue weight. An old 12 to 13 foot trailer weighs in the 1200 to 1500 pound range so you are twice that long, and you would be less two end walls so you could be as light as 2400 pound. Just me thinking out loud.

I checked the weight limit on the tires and it says 1875 lbs max. That's 3750 total so maybe it's not as heavy as I thought unless it's got the wrong weight class tire on it.

FWIW, my '76 Shasta 2250 dual-axle was listed at about 3300 lbs on an old magazine ad...

I canrt believ with all the interest in vintage campers that theres not a list put together with weights of various trailers. I am also surrised how many peole just dont know . I see the weights quoted that are all over the place with too much discrepancy to account just for gear.

There are so many variables that you probably wouldn't live long enough to list them all and even manufactures advised weights are often wrong. So once you did get every trailer and every option compiled into a manageable list the first thing that would happen is a thousand people would say you are wrong because******. This is why every thing is a best guess.
