Hello, i am new to this site, but already very grateful for the wealth of information shared!!! I purchased a "rebuilt" Shasta that is cute as a button.......from a distance! i took her to shop to inquire about a working door and found out the seller put wood over dry rot and my walls are not even secured to the floors. I do not have any experience with power tools, but I need to make her safe for travel. i have reviewed many videos on the Shasta being rebuilt and feel optimistic.
I live in the Los Angeles area and the person I took her to can't touch her until February. Help??!!!!! Thank you,,,

I know Mobletec who does the videos lives somewhere in California and he does work on campers for a fee. No idea of his hourly rate, it might be worth the drive if you are desperate. However, most of the work on these trailers is not hard, just time consuming. As long as you are not in a crazy rush, I would encourage you to take the winter and do it a bit at a time. However if you need the camper for this summer.. some people use them "as is" the first season and then get down to the repair part.

So sorry that this happened to you. We like to believe that the POs that do this kind of patchwork really do not understand what the actual damage is. If the walls are no longer attached to the floor, it's neither safe nor wise to take it out on the road. It would probably survive being trailered to someone who can do the repair work if you aren't able/interested. Best of luck and keep us posted.

Welcome aboard, LittleSusie! Sorry to hear that you didn't get what you were expecting. You're not the first. What model/year Shasta do you have? Could you post some pictures for us? We all love pics. Here is a link which should take you to the Photo Tutorial vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/post/77/threaAre you asking for help to do it yourself or are you looking for someone else in your area to do the work? If you are up for doing it yourself, you've definitely come to the right place for help.

I'm so sorry about your camper:( It's really sad how unethical some people are, when it comes to money.
Hopefully, you can get it fixed and make it safe, for many years to come.

My dream is to rebuild her myself. The reality is that we would like to use her this summer and do so safely! I would truly appreciate any referrals for someone in Southern California that has the know how and skill to fix her! Thank you in advance for your kind words and suggestions.

This is a beautiful Shasta and "should have been" properly repaired. It makes me VERY ANGRY that sellers mislead and cheat people to make big bucks...
Mobiltech might be willing to help? John Palmer is also in California. Not sure where everyone is...
Cali Guys, HELP!
