Hi Everyone, When I opened the roof of my trailer, I found the left over pieces of 1/4 inch paneling had been nailed to the rafters. The pieces run sort perpendicular to the rafters, but seam randomly placed. Some even end in the space between rafters. Do they serve a useful purpose? The "rafters" are two feet apart on the flat part of the roof, and 8 inches on the curved ends. These pieces create waves in the roof that I really don't like. If they serve an important purpose, I can cut new strips, but it kind of looks like they were just put up there to use up the waste. Thanks, Cheri

Add "additional" rafters.
They used up scraps, it was used to hold up the thin skin.

I agree. Build it stronger than it used to be. There also could have been low spots from less than quality rafter boards...
