Hi there, we are making progress but having our back bed rebuilt now. It pulls out towards the small bookshelf and bathroom. Does anyone know if this bed was a full bed? I know it is not a twin or a queen, so im pretty sure full is the answer, but in case anyone has measurements, that would be a bonus! I think schweet cruisers had similar year and a few others....anything helps! Thanks!

Trailer beds are odd sized; sometimes 3/4. (that was my mother's term for an extra wide twin)I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will chime in..

I found a blog of a 64 Shasta 16sc with the measurements he used. It looks to be the same set up so we are going with those for now. Thank you!!

hi folks, our bed frame in our new 1957 Shasta 1400 (yes it is a ¾ full) has been rebuilt - but we don't have a plywood bottom (for lack of another term). we were told best to get ½ thick plywood - any suggestions out there? do most folks cut it in half on the short end? also, has anyone put a layer of insulation or plastic sheeting between the baggage area, plywood and the mattress? any leads on decent mattresses would also be appreciated. much thanks tracy and sue

I live in the Seattle area and we have The Friendly Foam stores but their prices were far too high. Oh and my friend bought her foam at JoAnn's with a 50% off coupon for one piece then waited until the next coupon came through the mail and bought the second piece covered it all with nice thick batting, bought great upholstery material (again coupon) made the covers herself (directions on line)and it did not cost over $125. I discovered a futon mattress that will work fine and bend to make a couch when it isn't a bed. My Shasta had no frame for the bed just one interior part horizontal that has a fold down door on it. Both the outside Bergman Luggage doors open up to this same interior rectangular space so we are putting in TWO half inch plywood sheets that sit over two cross pieces that will divide the space in three sections. Then the plywood will have a handle type strap that you can pull on to make the complete bed fit out over the wheel wells thus 48" wide by 74" long. If anyone has other pictures or suggestions please chime in here since we may do this part this weekend after putting the last bit of insulation in the back and covering the back wall. Thanks.....
