After owning Mr Sam for 12 months, I figured we needed to start a thread for him. I arrived home With Mr Sam on a Thursday evening. We`d had a camping trip planned for several months and were leaving early the next morning. So we worked till midnight getting Mr Sam ready. While Bo replaced a rotten piece of framing over the curbside wheel well, I packed and our friend hung the curtains for us. Bo then removed the stove, replaced it with the mini fridge and made a makeshift cover over the top of the fridge.

The PO(Lopo)had already cut a hole in the skin and installed an AC. It was working so we simply removed the closet door, secured the AC and went as is.

All in all he had good skin other than a pretty good smashed in area on the curbside rear seam. Its not noticeable in the above pictures as the kettle is in front of it. First camping trip went great The following trip was over 4th July and did not go well at all....we got soaked. It stormed for hours and the rear window was leaking in. Mattress and all the bedding was wet. NOW we knew what had caused all the rippling and water damage that was present on the interior paneling and in the luggage compartment. I took the rear window out and re-putty taped it several times but it still leaked. Upon further inspection I realized that it was the window itself. The butyl tape used to hold the glass in on this style window had spaces in it. It was hidden under the rubber window glazing. So the glass had to come out. Yes it broke!!!! 1/16 th inch thick and 40 yrs old. So new glass, new butyl and we were DRY . Wanting to finish up Lopo`s Frolic we decided that Mr Sam`s rear framing repairs could wait until this year. We did paint his exterior and added 2 inch pin striping.

Had enough left over to make a bag for the awning, poles, ropes and stakes. Its great not having to root around for stray parts in the baggage compartment.

So 2013 is here and Lopo`s Frolic is finished and at home in South Florida so time to get busy on Mr Sam before our big trip to the Hiawassee Gathering of vintage trailers in the Georgia mountains. We knew the rear wall framing need addressing before making the long trip so we went with that first. Out with the bedding..This was a horse shoe dinette so I intend saving the board with the door in it, to use under the bed front, once we rebuild the bed frame.
