Here are some pics I took today of my house wiring on my 65 Shasta compact. s1252.photobucket.com/user/143cabinets/library/house%20wiring?sort=3&page=1Be advised I built a custom interior. Still the settees are in the same location as original. ac is wired from the original exterior plug to the original circuit breaker, now located under the settee and from there to 2 receptacles, one in the settee base and one buy the door on the wall over the stove. Wiring for ac is 14-2 w/ ground heavy duty exterior extension cord wire with multi strand conductors. Dc consists of a 30 amp/ hr AGM battery in a home built battery box with a master switch which disconnects it from the rest of the house wire. There is also an led volt meter so I can know precisely what the battery voltage is. Power then goes to a marine switch panel with fuses on each switch and then to the 4 led cabin lights. Charging for the battery is by a 40 watt solar panel that is set up remotely and connects to the battery through a small charge controller. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ As an addendum to the above I want to say that, except for a little extra cost and weight, going with oversize wire is usually a good idea . Here is a wire capacity chart I got off the net( isn't it just great). www.glasswolf.net/papers/charging.html (better than the last one) With D/C wiring you also have to factor in the length of run - from the battery to the fixture and back to the battery - so an appliance or fixture that is 10 ft away has an effective length of wire of 20 ft. This becomes important as the amperage goes up (which equals heat) or the fixture, say a radio receiver or other electronic equipment. is sensitive to the voltage, as voltage drops the longer the wire and the more resistance. ie, the smaller diameter.
