Are you repairing it or replacing it?

Posted for Corky, (61 SCS) but the thread was 3 pages, so thought I'd move it here. I'll be removing/not replacing said tank. Available, but shipping would be a nightmare...

Fine job VK! Those are the first clear pics that I've ever seen of one of those "unique (I think) to the SCS" tanks. I have pics of that very tank when Tom owned it, but yours are much better and far more useful, especially since you included the dimensions. Mine was missing when I bought my SCS, and I was going nuts trying to imagine what it looked like, knowing that it had to be exactly that shape in order to fit in the original location. Fortunately I found an original before I had one made, but if I'da had your pics a few years ago they sure woulda saved me some head scratching! ( And I realize now that I forgot to take pics of mine before I installed it! DOH!) If you don't find a home for this one and get tired of looking at it, let me know, I wouldn't mind having a spare. And yes, I know about the hole in the bottom, and I had my tank, along with an original fresh water tank, along with an original stove top / oven door shipped from Texas to Northern Calif, so I'm familiar with shipping nightmares! Actually, I had the seller drop the parts off at a packing / shipping place who took care of it all, nightmare free.

You're welcome. I haven't started on the SCS yet, but may not use this tank. If not, I'll let you know...

Vikx, Thanks for posting! Are you saying its still possible to buy these new old stock? I hadn't dug in enough to discover that the SCS didn't have a greywater tank...sink and shower drain here too?
I think the plate/valve you pull to drain the tank is broken on mine, but it looks in your pix like that can be replaced.
Thanks again!

I think with Vikx's "detailed dimensions", and the photos, you could easily replicate that tank. Take some Styrofoam, a hot glue gun, and build a exact copy from Styrofoam. Fiberglass over the foam to build up the tank. After you get the thickness you desire with the fiberglass mat, dump some gasoline into the hole, it will dissolve the Styrofoam, leaving the hollow tank.
If you have any kind of a tank now, even broken, use it as a mold and re-glass it and add your new plumbing fittings.
