The original shower valve in our 1960 Shasta ruptured during the very cold winter, and I have been stalling in replacing it. Now it seems I cannot locate a NOS or repro style shower valve. Anyone have a source for vintage RV/mobile home plumbing? The original, (broken) is a shower only, exposed , 3 3/8 center valve body. I cannot find a replacement part anywhere.
What I need is the valve with the handles, attached to the wall in the photo.

I might have a more modern one out of a 68 Starflyte. Definitely not the same vintage look. Want me to search?

Please do.. If I cannot lay hands on an original I will have to cut new holes in the shower and fit a new fixture.

I'll check tomorrow. It seems to be in good condition, just buried in parts. LOL. "Swamper" is my storage trailer... Found this: And this:

I really appreciate your taking time to check, but unfortunately it won't work...due to very small space behind the shower stall, it needs to be an 'exposed' type of shower valve and riser. I will have to buy a new fixture with 6" centers and install it, covering the old holes with a stainless plate. Thank you for the consideration!

You're welcome! I pretty much knew it wouldn't work when I saw the photos...

Whew! What a minefield! After MUCH internet searching, and finding NOTHING that is a real replacement, I had to effect a field expedient repair. The one piece brass valve body (Empire Brass Co.) had split from freezing, so I replaced the O rings in the valve stems, and filed, sanded, soldered and JB welded the split on the brass. Lots of cursing and bloody knuckles later, the valve is back in place and working, and most importantly I did NOT have to cut and butcher original sheet metal to force fit something that looks just wrong. Has anyone else had to somehow repair a broken piece that a replacement was unobtainable??
This is the valve...the part with the handles.

Nice, nice, nice! I'm glad you didn't have to butcher the shower walls. Are you using the original water heater, or did you replace it?
