Before I drill a big hole in my counter top does anyone have an opinion on the placement of a hand pump faucet? I have a 61 Shasta compact, sink in the left corner as you face the kitchen. Would you center it ? Put it towards the left side of the sink? Anyone discovered a good reason NOT to put it where theirs is place or vice versa? Ever bit of good space usage counts! thanks, Ann

Here's a couple of pics, not mine, I'm not quite there and I don't have the original faucets: 62 Compact Photo credit: Amanda Nickles' 1962 Shasta Compact Project (work done by Nancy Kroes) 61 Compact

You want to place it where it will be comfortable to pump, If you are right handed you might not want to reach cross body to pump it, or vice versa. I think most of them are on the right side near the back. also you want it where your hand won't strike anything when operating the pump.
