Wondering if anyone has any experience with changing the height / position of a window during the rebuild process. I understand that there is a structural process that should not be interfered with, but I am thinking about moving a window up by two inches while the skin is off. I am buying new skin, so it would be more to do with whether the change would be safe to make. Its the front window. Thanks

I don't see a problem with that.

Perfect! Thanks.. I am moving the kitchen to the front, and I just want to bring the height up enough to accommodate standard counter height.

As long as you move all of the frame work up it should be fine. You might want to add some additional framing to the front to attach cabinets to. Give your layout some thought and decide how you need to secure it. I sometimes add an extra cross piece to the front of Shastas to make them stronger where people kick the wall getting in and out of the dinette. I have seen trailers where they have actually pushed the aluminum skin out make the trailer look weird. I install it half way between the one the table fastens to and the bottom brace, then I add verticals in the center Makes for a super strong front end.

I moved my back window up 3/4" to adjust to my rebuilt ceiling making it fit my old skins. This is the third and final time I will reframe that window, I HOPE! I could not move my front window up because of the curve in the trailer. The front window is strategically place so if I had moved it up, it would have been where the bend starts and the front window does not flex.

I am wondering that about my window SusieQ, if I can't move it, my other option is a counter at a slightly lower height (I'm on,y 5'2" so not a big issue, or creating a kind of window well for some little herbs or plants... My mom always taught me that if you make a flaw into a feature .... You have done a great design.
