I just picked up a 50s shasta. The name plate definitely says Van Nuys, CA and the Vin is C4811. Any idea on the exact year? Thanks!

Hey Oliver,
Thanks for your Airflyte's vin#. It was born in 1961 in Goshen, Indiana, probably mid year.
Hope this helps.

Looks like you have a 1955 Shasta 1500, born in Van Nuys, California. The 1500's were the main choice that were being produced at the Van Nuys plant from the time they opened, in 1953, till 1956. Hope this helps and thank you for the vin#.

I currently have over 375 Shasta Vin's and would love to add your Shasta's VIN Number and Model to the database. This really comes in handy for helping others date their Shasta's. Those of you who would like to share your info, you can either post it here or PM me with the info. I am only looking for the Year, VIN# and the Model of your Shasta. This Database list is not published or available to the public. There are some Shasta owners that don't want their Vin#'s made public and I value their privacy. I really appreciate your help with this and thank you very much. Ross Staff Note: If possible, when seeking information, please add a photo with your inquiry to aid in identification.

We have a Leola PA 1964 SCS that we registered after contacting you about it last year.
We picked up another one. It came with paperwork and current registration as a
Stratoflyte (emblem still on the trailer) # S31426 Model year 1969
Can you help identify what plant it came out of? The tag on the side of the door is painted over.
Thanks to your help.

The tag on the side of the door is painted over. Thanks to your help. The plant would have been Columbia, South Carolina. However, the vin# that you gave is for a 1976. If it were a 1969 Shasta from South Carolina, it would only be a 4 digit vin# and the first number would be 6. Do you have a picture or two that you can post or email me?

I think I have a 1964 Shasta SC-16. Born in Goshen. Bought it from 2nd owner in Madison, WI. V-15797. Can you please confirm? No title is required in WI for this age and weight.
