Hey all, Been awhile since I posted on here as was looking for a early Compact but as of Friday, found one and bought it ! I will post more info about it but have one very important question - can anyone tell me exact height of a first generation Compact ( early 1964) including the roof vent ? I have seen 7 foot 4 inches but also less. Thanks, Mike

I can't tell you, as the axle and springs are off mine - also a '64.
No springs, no axle, and no vent. Frame on very low wheel skates. I can just squeak it in the garage through a 7' door.

Meant to thank y'all for getting back on the height of a Compact. Think I'm going to take off the wheels and put it on wheel skates and should be okay. Based on what I have seen, the U bolts holding the axle to the springs have about 4-5 inches of clearance with wheels on so if I pick up that much should get it in with no problem to work on it.
