Hey everyone...I'm thrilled to find such an informative group! I finally took the leap and purchased a 1963 14' Go Tag A Long, armed with more enthusiasm than caution, but she seems very solid and well cared for. Good roof, solid floor, intact except for the removal of the head, (which I may turn into a bar), no signs of vermin, needs rewiring, good all over checkup and a slight facelift. The big boom is that there's no title. But for $700, I couldn't pass her up. She was a hunting cabin for 30 years. If all goes well, I'll have a road ready camper by the end of the summer (fingers crossed and finances willing). And if not, I'll have a nifty little art studio in my backyard. Here are a few pics of my "hooch". I haul her home on Sunday! Looking forward to learning from you all. Cheers, Cyn www.flickr.com/photos/cynroux/sets/72157644356687176/

We just bought a 1972 Go Tag Along about a month ago. Ours is not nearly in as good as shape. We completely gutted the inside already, it isn't a total rebuild but we have to replace the front where the wood has rotted. Good luck with your restoration and keep us updated. Here are some pictures.

Thanks y'all. Hey jlr, it's still a boxy beauty. And you're probably one step ahead of me. I'm one of those fools who has an untitled trailer and finding the VIN is proving to be impossible. I may have a backyard studio on my hands, which still isn't a tragedy, considering the trailer really is sound and the price was incredibly reasonable.

Welcome cynroux! Nice looking trailer you have there, I actually remember seeing it on craigslist not too long ago.
I'm also in southern Maryland working on my 12 foot fleetcraft. I had some problems finding the VIN but luckily I did uncover it. Just be careful and make sure not to rub it off.

Thanks taotao. I'm in Calvert Co. The backroad haul between Beltsville and and Calco ( I wanted to avoid 395, just in case) went better than expected and the little GTAL towed really well. I'll sand *very* gently. I discovered that originally, GTAL put the VIN numbers on a sticker that was placed on the fusebox. Well...that fusebox and sticker are long gone. My next hope is the tongue.

Yep I found my VIN on top of the curbside tongue right next to the skin. It was hardly imprinted and I think if I got it any further with the sanding wheel it would have come off.
I'll be working on my trailer in La Plata about an hour from you, but I'm in Calvert pretty often as my girlfriend's family is from there. They're not too far from the shopping center with the Walmart.

I'll check there. I'm not far from your GFs family, just down the road in Owings.
