Hello, My name is Jim, My wife and I have been camping in Vintage trailers for 27 years together and she has been for 4... well since she was 2 weeks old lets say Ha Ha
She started camping with the family 64 Shasta Astroflyte, that stayed in her family until we got married and made it ours.
We used that for a good 20 years, also in those years had a Popup. but we mostly used the old Shasta.
back in late 2011 I wanted to start fixing up the old girl... The Camper not the Wife ha ha.... we went to a camping show for ideas and walked out of there with a brand new 26' Keystone trailer.. oops ! there goes the resto on the Shasta !
we decided to focus on camping rather than fix up the Shasta.... the Shasta needed work and we found a nice couple to take her to restore for their own.... I had not done a lot of research on what it was worth and was glad to have it go to someone who would take care of it.
last year I started dreaming about building a teardrop so my wife could jump in the car and pull it to camp for a weekend with a friend or one of our kids, without me having to hook up the big trailer everytime. she went with the idea and I bought a partially built one that today I am still building...... ALL the while I was watching thr progress of the Shasta the couple got from us. I was amazed at what he was doing to it and inspired me to do birch in the teardrop. and the galley cabinets.... Im having fun with it, am on all the facebook vintage camper pages scouring the info.....
WELL never thought I would get another Vintage trailer until the other day...ha ha on facebook saw a woman posting about a little fixer upper about 40 minutes from me for $100 well why not I took a shot and looked at it and bought it...
in tough shape inside but nice skin on the outside.... Bought it !!!
She is a 13' 1964 BeeLine Wasp... its a bunkover and its tourqoise and white. the appliances are good except the plate stove needs a top.
a total gut inside but I will take and work each side skin off.... the roof I may replace.
I'm excited ! it will fit in my barn to be worked on once the teardrop is done....
SO .. Hello everyone !!!
