Hi,
I'm from Southern Michigan and am repairing what I believe is a Wildcat from the 1960's. I have looked high and low to find info that I can understand about upgrading the electrical system, and I found it here. Thanks!! I have lots more questions for another day.

Hi Cheri, glad you are here! One of our members here did a restore on a Wildcat last year...http://vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/262/1971-wildcat-flash-back-future With regards to the range, maybe this will help: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/366/coleman-holiday-stove-manual?page=1&scrollTo=2544It is recommended having the propane system professionally checked for leaks. If there are none, then the appliances are pretty easily checked out. There really are only a few moving parts, and there are plenty of experienced folks right here that can make you feel confident enough to try yourself. You have a great-looking trailer. It sure looks like you will have some fun doing all you want done. And remember, if you don't have some family that thinks you are crazy, you're not having fun!

I like yours better than mine. Yours is older, bigger and has a toilet. Yours even has junk in the trunk too! Even though mine was smaller and newer these were built like tanks with 2X2" wall frame sticks. Does yours have the 2X2 beefy wall frame sticks as well? Love your stove oven too!! Link to mine; vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/262/1971-wildcat-flash-back-futureEnjoy the site!

The stove/oven is out right now, so I can read the manual and check to see if it is intact. My plan is to put in a new counter, so it can't hurt to try living without the stove. I am putting in new wiring and a 30 amp service, so a two burner portable induction unit would work. I would like to "encourage" my husband and son to cook outside the camper. There is a vent hood, but no vent, and I can't imagine the mess.

I'm not sure I would have the courage to keep going if I had found that much work under the skin. I'm not sure what the frame size is. It is just shy of a standard 2x2, which is what I am using for replacement. As for the trunk... I bought this camper because it looks so different, but I'm not sure it's a great idea. It is where the worst rot is. Kind of a leak waiting to happen kind of design. (in my humble opinion) Do you have any interior pics?

Great trailer, Cheri! Yes Please do post your questions in a new thread in the most appropriate section. You'll probably help someone else get answers they are looking for, too!
