Hello! My name is Christie and I just purchased my first trailer, a cute little 1962 Fire-ball. I had no idea that restoring old campers was a "thing" so I was so excited to stumble across this site! From what I can tell, everything seems to be in pretty good shape, and I'm terrified to find out otherwise! To be honest, I'm not looking to do some in depth restoration. I love the faded exterior, I'm a-ok with throwing an afghan over the sofa that has a rip, etc... Having said that...I pulled up the carpet and was so excited to see the flooring underneath. Correct me if I'm wrong (I probably am) but is this some sort of vinyl tile? Anyway, the floor all looks great except for the one ugly spot pictured. I would really, REALLY like to keep this original flooring and was wondering what my options are. Now again, I realize I can't make that spot look perfect, but am I able to use some sort of sealant to put over the floor to perhaps fill those tiny gaps between the tiles? Do you think it's possible to pry up a tile or two from another inconspicuous spot (a bottom cabinet) and paste them in? I sure would hate to throw down new flooring due to one ugly spot. Thanks in advance for any advice! [/URL]

Doesn't look bad at all... Welcome xtie!
There are flooring sealers that might help, or you could pull a tile or two out of the closet. Be aware that some old flooring and adhesive can have asbestos, so wear a mask. Once it's glued down, no more asbestos danger...

Thanks for the advice! If you or anyone can suggest a specific sealer that would be awesome. The girl at the hardware store wasn't much help, unfortunately. I mean, I guess I'll have to fix it myself, as I seem to be a day or two past the 90 day warranty period as described on the paper given to me by the previous owner.

I love the floor. It does not look that bad. You could always cover that spot with a small rug. Have fun with your Fireball. :-)

Look for floor seam sealer in the tile section. I think Lowes has it...
Also, that warranty is too cool! I put a piece of plexi over mine-keeps them nice and all.

The pattern on the flooring looks like it's linoleum rather than vinyl. Hard to say as that was a transition time. We agree with the others, keep it, seal it and cover that spot. Congrats!
