Hello I'm Curt, I just acquired a 1979 Red Dale Mallard. My friend gave it to me, so the price was right. Anyway, all I know about campers is, you sleep In them. This trailer has some problems that even I can spot, but just looking through here I've already come up with some great solutions. The hardest thing,I've found out about the older campers, is finding parts. I live in Wyoming, and there aren't many RV dealers around, and being that I live in a very small town the local hardware store guys look at me like my head is falling off when i tell them what part i need. So all I can say is, thank god for the internet. A friend of ours borrowed this camper a couple of years ago to go hunting. On his way home it was muddy, and he found himself in a ditch. It did some damage. After that the trailer sat in my buddies driveway for two years with the door blowing back and forth in the wind. Needless to say, it needed a new door, and you can imagine the dirt and water damage in the doorway. After four days of calling salvage places as far away as Denver, I finally THINK I found one right here at our local junction yard ( I hope it fits ). Any way it's good to have all this knowledge at my finger tips, and I'll let you know about the door Monday.
