Another Tin Can Tourist gathering.
Camping Rally - Gold Rush Days, Victor, CO
Where: Mueller State Park, 21045 Highway 67 South, Divide, CO
When: July 18-20, 2014
We will camp at scenic Mueller State Park, which is approx. 20 minutes from the historic mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek. Mueller State Park is a wildlife refuge and has many biking, hiking and horseback riding trails. Mueller State Park is about 1 hr and 45 minutes from Denver, and about 35 minutes from Colorado Springs. Go to this link for more info: Mueller State Park. There is plenty of great fishing in the area: Fishing in Victor. Victor is having their Gold Rush Days celebration this weekend, and there will be architectural house tours, a parade, and numerous events. There are many attractions and activities in Cripple Creek as well, including historic walking tours, antiquing, shopping and sightseeing. The entire area is rich in mining history and tours of the historic mines are available. Electric hook ups will be available at each camp site. Water, restrooms and showers are available. This will be a weekend trip. We will have a pot luck dinner on Friday evening, light breakfast on Sat. and Sun. mornings and will have a group dinner on Saturday night. Costs TBD but will probably be around $80-$100 for the first participant including food and camping fees. Second participant in same trailer will be less. The campground has cabins and tent sites if you do not have a trailer yet. Cabins start at $140 per night for the whole cabin. You must have an annual pass or a daily pass to stay at the state park, in addition to the camp site fees. Dogs are permitted but must be on leash at all times in the park. Cats are permitted inside your trailer. I am not requesting a deposit at this time. Trying to gauge level of interest so that I can anticipate how many camp sites to reserve. You can sign up now, but a deposit will not be required until January 1. Remainder of fees will be due May 15
