These are messy ugly shots of the progress on the bed/table layout we are doing.

This is the table pulled out. Under the bed is the dog cave.

I still love the apple peeler. Cute trailer, too! I have colored appliance envy.

SusieQ, that apple peeler isn't sitting there anymore since we started working on it but I used the old pic since now there are tools and stuff piled everywhere. But every time I see it in my real kitchen I think of you since you noticed it before I did! The PO had staged it with that and several other turquoise handled kitchen tools and an antique turquoise lady's bike to divert our attention from the gutted back end. Because we didn't really know what glamping actually was, it was lost on us. But we did still fall for the trailer despite all the obvious flaws.

Oh wow SusieQ I'm not much of an interior decorator but I have been collecting color matched vintage appliances to go with the stuff in my Kenny. You may go nuts when you see that.
This is a great little trailer. I like the way the table slides out from under the sleeping area...
Cute dog! "nice little doggie" keeping hands in pockets...

Dang, it's been forever since I've updated our progress though I hop on occasionally to see what's up with everybody and to research issues that we encounter along the way. Not long after I last posted, we moved to Illinois for 6 months to build a net zero + house. We were excited about being invited to work on this project but bummed that we wouldn't be able to work on the camper all summer. Luckily, we were able to pull it out there. The maintenance guy for our apartment lets us park it next to the building inside the fence so it was a perfect place to work on it. Naturally we over estimated the amount of free time we would have and underestimated the zillions of mosquitoes in the vicinity each evening. Despite that, Rob finished rewiring and the electrical is up and running. He took out the old pressurized water system, even though we really wished we could have renovated it and kept it, just because it's really kind of ingenious they way they did those things and because it's original. But the galvanized tank was just nasty plus when we filled it to try and flush it out we discovered that it had some holes and leaked. So new water tank, pump, and faucet are installed and working.
Because of our space and time constraints, we opted to not take the skin off and to work from the inside. Yep. Less than ideal and way hard. But even if we had a place to hang and store the skins, they are just plain messed up from the various mishaps that have occurred over the years and once they come off, at some point in the future, they will need to be replaced, along with a new roof. That was just not going to be possible this year or probably even next. So with a great deal of patience mixed with moaning and groaning, we finagled the skin on the back end into position with hopes and prayers that it will give us several years of use before we have to take it all apart and replace the skin. The original 2x2 framing on the sides was in excellent shape, no rot and looked great. The camper seems well-built compared to some of the descriptions I've read about various other brands. The framing on the back was pretty much all removed when we got it, damaged from what appeared to be somebody clipping the street side corner on something while backing up. Rob replaced the missing framework and probably overbuilt it in my humble opinion before we hauled her out to the job site for the summer and she pulled like a champ nearly 300 miles. So that was encouraging. Still have some work to do before we are ready for the inaugural short camping trip this fall but we are determined to get it done. For some reason, I can't get pictures to download from the bucket. I'll try again later. But since it's just wiring and plumbing not much to see anyway.

Glad you are back. It's great that you got to take your trailer with you and work on it. A net zero+ house is my dream house. Actually, I'd be happy with a net zero (no +) cabin. But my camper is my answer to that want. And don't stay away from here so long next time
