First off, let me say that I'm bummed that VSTF is closing. Secondly, let me say that I'm PUMPED that Vikx has started this forum!! Talk about a roller coaster of emotions when I logged into VSTF a bit ago. Thirdly, let me re-introduce myself. I'm Night*sky, and I have a 1975? Shasta 1400 that needs work, and a American Leisure Time Industries Caboose travel trailer, probably the last one in existence of less than 10 made, that is a total train wreck and needs a total rebuild. Oh, and a 1989 Monaco Class C that needs work. Hmmm.... seems to be a common thread there lol Anyway, I'm really REALLY glad that so many of you very knowledgeable folks have moved here and are so willing to share your incredible wealth of information on repairing and rebuilding these old timers. THANK YOU!!

Hey Nightsky, glad you joined us here. Your blog is one that I had bookmarked, back before my computer crapped out. Then the forum crapped out, so making all these old connections again is going to be an exciting journey all by itself!
Since I haven't looked in for a while, is there any progress on the Caboose? That rebuild is going to be so worth every painstaking moment...one survivor out of less than 10?? Incredible. I do hope you'll have all the help you need to make it into the museum piece it should be!...or at least to camp in it once in awhile....

No progress has been made at all, I'm currenty trying to finish up some remodeling projects here in TN so I can head north for the summer. North is where I have a 100+ year old farmhouse and a 30x50 shop along with a couple other outbuildings that all need to be cleaned out so I can sell the acreage. The intention is to living in the Caboose full-time once I get it done, but all this other stuff needs to get done first. I need more hours in the day! Oh, I've changed the name of my blog, since I don't actually have a Semaphore Caboose.
