Hey gang, Went and looked at the 14 Zipper today as yesterday was a monsoon. Actually a very nice trailer but current owner has not done much to it in past year besides put some wear on it, not too clean. Looked like it was totally redone over a year ago by the previous owner who did the restoration and I spoke to on Thursday. If I wanted pics he had them available. Current owner led me to believe she did most of the work but thanks to SusieQ, I knew better. Decided to not say anything as determined pretty quickly it is simply too big for us in being too tall to fit under our house as well as heavier than we wanted to deal with re tow vehicle. Measured almost 8 feet to top of roof vent and no way to stick an 8 foot trailer in a 7.5 foot hole ! Have no idea how far off the $8500 price she might go but if someone likes what they see in the pictures and wants a Zipper, would recommend it. My wife and I decided we are just going to be patient and look for a Shasta Compact due to over all size and towing weight and possibly even look to park it off site since can't make the entry to park it any bigger ! Thanks again to everyone who posted and if you hear about a Compact out there looking for a home, let me know ! Regards, Mike

There's still a second generation Compact listed in Roanoke, VA, or at least it was still listed last night. Mystery price.
Also, check out the thread "Too tall for my garage?" If you can't find them, let me know, I'll look them up.

They do seem to show up when you are not really looking for them. Count every one that you go to look at as experience. You get to see more in person of the problems that most won't know what to look for. Then when yours comes along you will know how to tell it to turn its head and cough.....

Hey Zipper!
I haven't figured out how to import saved photos onto here either. I use a photobucket or blogspot account to do my attachments.
Welcome to the boards! I'm a newbie here too. Not a newbie all the way around but definitely here.

For reference; without water or propane I think our Aljo 1700 (much like a Shasta) was about 2850lbs tongue weight. That's pretty heavy. Hope yours is lighter!

64 Zipper, I changed your phone # to words and numbers to prevent phishing calls, spam etc. Best to be careful on the net...

Getting back to the British cars for a brief moment, I must know what you have! I have a 56 MGA waiting to be restored after my trailer is complete. I've had it for 25 years. My grampa restored an MGTD from the ground up and showed it at Concours shortly after he and my parents gave me mine.
Just curious!
