I've done a lot of paint and body work in the past and I already have the paint picked out for the Shasta project and have read just about everything I can find about Shasta's but I have yet to read anything about the Z stripe...what are you guys using? I still don't have the camper home yet and my old weary mind is racing..  Danny |

Some people polish the bare metal for the stripe and some prefer to paint it. There are people here with both.

My Compact has silver tape for the z stripe. It actually looks pretty darn good and haven't had any problems with it coming loose.

We had all new skin for Hamlet, and it came pre-primed, so rather than try to strip and shine it, we went with the shiniest silver paint we saw in the paint book. It looks great.

I used 2 inch tape. Much easier than polishing and maintaining a stripe between painted surfaces where the paint edge can flake or lift.

Should be automotive tape, like striping tape... I've used the 1/4 inch stuff and it sticks really well.
Our silver stripe is stripped and polished. It looks great, too.
