Hi I am a Canadian, and happy to join this forum. I have been searching for a vintage trailer to restore for a while, but had not found anything old enough for my tastes. I finally found one, and purchaced her for $775.00 a couple of days ago. She has been named "Penelope" after a 1950's house wife Character in a film skit I wrote and produced. There are some positives and negatives to my new trailer. The positives are that the skin is in OK condition in terms of dents etc. The appliances are in working order (Or they were last fall), there is not a ton of water damage and the layout has a lot of windows, and a place where we can install a hidden air conditioner. The negatives are that the inside has been totally painted, is in distgusting condition and was retrofited with bad cupboard doors, and the closet was ripped out. Plus the front right corner needs a repair as it is starting to seperate and this is keeping the door from closing. I plan to do a pretty major restoration, I will be taking out all the windows, and stripping off the drip rail etc on the outside to do a whole new reseal, and then have the paint done at an autobody shop. Inside I will strip the wood on whats left of the cabinets, replace the crappy wallboard that someone added in the 1970's and rebuild some solid wood doors, and coset to match. Then there will be some fun finishing like upholstery, new laminate, curtans and floor. I used to run a custom upolstery and furniture business, so cabinets, and upolstery and sewing are no problem. I recently watched a five hour long video of a total trailer restoration and learned a lot, however I look forward to making some new friends here who are also involved in similar projects.

Glad to have you and and long as you post lots of pictures you can stay seriously we do enjoy seeing your project as you go and if you have any questions somebody here will have the answer and many times a quicker and easier way to do something. The ideas here are sometimes beyond a normal persons thoughts every project seems to raise the bar a little higher. I am not familiar with your trailer but I like its shape, it should be beautiful when finished.

When I opened it up today to take a closer look I realised that the previous owner had given me a whole gallon of the blue paint.. eek! lets just say that there will be NO blue in the finished product

Well, if you have bad neighbors, you can paint your house on that side...
