Hey we just bought a Shasta Compact to restore. Approx. 68-70. Looking forward to it and getting advice from those with more experience than me! Thanks

Hi Vic and welcome. I am pretty new to the board myself since a 69-70 compact came my way. They are fairly easy to work on for the most part. Mine was completely gutted to the paneled walls. Questions are usually answered quickly and accurately here. They have already been a great help to me.

Thanks for greetings! Does anyone have suggestions to replace door knob on shasta compact. I am having trouble finding a replacement in original style, at a price I want to pay. Thanks for any input.

Do you have any pics of your Compact posted? Well, as you have probably noticed by now, we are all unrepentant voyeurs and will stop at almost nothing to get you to post pictures. Sorry about that! I think we picked up our door handle set (inside and outside with lock) at an RV supply store. It was the same one that was used on the original Compacts, but ours is an earlier model than yours, so I'm not sure if yours is the same. Good luck, and We'd LOVE to see pictures!

Yeah thats about all i had susie...the PO decided it would be better with ALL the cabinets and beds out, and lay plywood and a materess on milk crates. I did get luck and have 3 of the bed slides and top bunk vinyl covered board. this one would be what mobiletech would call a donor lol i dont give up so easy though

Okay! Pics. Will do soon! Mydoor lock appears fully functional except the outside handle is broken. That's great if the Home Depot latch works. Previous owner had some extra black paint.....so. There was a roof leak so some paneling and struts will be replaced. Will redo the bed, sink, water system, and decide about cooling. From the looks of it, I believe I'll fix some elec issues. Thanks for your interest and suggestions.
