Hi, here are some pics of my new friend. Painted 11 years ago still holding up enough to make me tolerate the stripes being in the wrong place and maybe being a shade off from authentic. Also, the vinyl stripes look more like duct tape to me. Wings were replaced, but with a plain face. Will never understand doing the work and not getting the details better. Will need the Shasta emblem eventually which I believe is supposed to be in front of the door. Appears to be in decent shape, but will need some sill repairs etc. eventually. It's nice just sitting in these trailers and enjoying the experience. Greg mentioned the stripe being a little different than original. 99.5 percent of the folks out there will never know. In my experience, the general public often asks me about my trailer, "Is that a Shasta?" Wings and a stripe is all you need and it's a Shasta. Cheers, Rod

Even the last owner didn't know about the stripe being wrong and maybe the RV place that painted it. The paint receipt even says tape over the previous stripe pattern. The only real problem is I know it's wrong. Also, I thought the stripe was supposed to be aluminum without paint, not "duct tape". I am happy with it either way.

I had a 1959 Airflyte and thought the people at Shasta did a nice job designing it. I especially liked all the glass up front.

Hi Idaho211, The attached pics seem to be of a Deluxe 19. The Airflyte Deluxe was only +/- 16', jalousie windows all around with no bath and no bunk vent. It also has a slightly different shape than the regular Airflyte as the roof doesn't slope as much at the back. There is a brochure for it if you follow the link below. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/8823/replacement-shasta-airflyte-deluxe

So far, I have heard of four models in 63. Compact, Airflyte, Airflyte Deluxe and Deluxe 19'. I presume there are more and I didn't get their tittles exactly correct. I have also seen a compact with a two seat dinnete in front, side kitchen and a rear bed like an Airflyte, but not sure what years it came in, but if the right one comes along, I might bite. Also, what types of interior wood were available?

Newin62 Thanks for the info. I did not know there was a deluxe without a bathroom.

Hmm, I don’t know about an “off-the-rack”.Compact with a front dinette and rear bed, but years ago, someone on either on VTT or the earlier VTSF redid a Compact with a similar layout. The neat thing about the Compact is that, despite its diminutive size, there are a lot of changes that won’t affect the structural integrity of the camper. If you see pictures, please post them here. Yours is beautiful!

I only saw one compact interior with the front two seat dinette but I've seen more that might have front dinettes as they have front side windows and are definitely compacts. I saw one on Facebook, but don't remember the year. Might be the 1965 style. Can't look it up easily as Facebook won't let me log on and I can't fix the log on issue. Have never been on a Facebook account of mine. Made my friend join FB when I was searching for trailers since I can't. I will start a new thread when I can locate a front dinnette compact with better info. Sure would be nice to have more access to what they built each year including rare ones or if a special order was possible.
