I bought another $200 vintage camper trailer its a 1963 Fan. There are 7 more $200 vintage campers on market place I have never seen so many gutted vintage campers for sale at the same time. At our age we are both tired of climbing over each other at 3 am to pee so the bed will be able to get in/out for both sides. I saved aluminum and windows and burned all the wood. Rebuilt wheel bearings and tested the brakes. Sanded and painted the frame then rebuilt the floor then wooden frame then cover inside with thin plywood. Then built kitchen, bathroom, closet, bed, door, etc. Floor will be vinyl this time. I have lots of pictures but looks like no way to post them here. I have pics on FB but it has no way to link it here.
We bought our first vintage camper 1976. When the first child came we needed a different camper, 2nd child we needed a different camper, 2 larger children we needed a different camper, children gone we needed another camper, we gone older we needed a nicer toilet, next we needed heat & AC. I still like camping in 25° weather with 14 quilts & blankets but wife says, NO more of that. We have a very nice $600 pillow top mattress we are too old to ruff it like we did 50 years ago. I think this my my 6th or 7th vintage camper rebuild for us to use. I restored a few camper just for fun projects to sell. My very favorite camper was a 5'x8' Teardrop but wife never liked it.

Hi Gary, Sounds like you have progressed through quite a lot of campers in your life! I think the progression to more comfort and nicer accomodations is part of the journey to older age. I hear the same thing from others, bathroom > no climb over bed > A/C. I am even going through something similar. June provides an opportunity for a rally in the early part of summer and the anticipated use of a portable A/C unit. My son no longer needs it - saved from an apartment he once lived in. For showing pix of your most recent build, you can load them up in a blog and share the link or follow the directions in this tutorial utilizing a Flickr account - vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/7276/add-photos-hosted-flickr-tutoria Cheers, Rod
