Hello VTT
I’m converting my camper to 12volts
I’m running 4, 12 volt lights in the camper.
I want to use my 120volt to 12volt dc converter to charge my battery.
Do I need a battery tender for this.
I wear hearing aids and will be needing to have a way to charge these every night.
A cigarette lighter outlet should work for that.
Looking at running 16-2 conductors red and black for the wiring as my longest run would be 25 feet.
Each light will have its own fuse of 5 amps.
We been also looking into a Yeti 600watt solar generator as a backup.
Do you see any wrong with our setup.
Thanks

The converter should have a built in "smart" charger, so a battery tender would be overkill. Most newer converters do have chargers. I always used 14 wires just in case more fixtures might be needed (plus a 10amp fuse). You can run the lights on one set of wires and one fuse.
Also consider adding a Fantastic Fan and water pump. The pump and cigar plug can be run off the same circuit, as the pump only runs intermittingly.
I have been researching solar generators lately and am looking at the Bluetti 200max. Do a lot of study before your purchase. Youtube has some great videos. Some solar generators have phantom loads and will discharge quite a lot overnight. This can be remedied by turning the unit off but it has been annoying some buyers.

Thanks Vikx
We been debating about the fantastic fan wether or not it’s worth it.
Do you splice your power and ground leads at the middle of the roof or run one fuse per light or do you have all your lights on one fused circuit.

My lights have always run on one fused circuit. No splices in the walls or ceiling, ever. (makes repairs difficult)
I have installed a F Fan (reversible, 3 speeds) in every trailer. To me, they are Fantastic! Can air out the entire trailer in just a short time.

I guess I’m a little confused.
I will have five total lights in our camper
One over the dinette table
One over the sink
One for the bed area
One for an outdoor light
And the last is now the potable toilet closest What used to be the closest.
Each light will have its own switch
I guess I’m confused as to how run all this on one fuse and not splice it in the ceiling

I figured it out Just over thinking it The splice is actually at the light socket connection making it a parallel circuit

You got it! I use small twist connectors (electrical wing nuts) at each light. Makes it easy to change out or repair lights.
