I finally bought some new toys. I bought a brand new DeWalt table saw with stand for a bundle price on one of the Amazon Prime Days for $360 plus tax. I also had over $100 in Amazon gift cards so that brought down the out of pocket expense down even more. I bought the DeWalt Universal table saw stand DW7440RS bundled with the table saw DWE7485. I am limited by space. It’s nice to be able to wheel around the table saw. I did have an issue with mounting the saw to the stand. The mounting bolts that come with the stand appeared not to thread into the rubber feet on the table saw. There is a hole in the bottom of the feet that accepts a threaded bolt. I thought the bolts were the wrong size. I had to remove the rubber feet on the table saw and then I could get a good purchase for the bolt threads. I think during manufacture, the paint got into the internal threads on the saw, making threading the bolt difficult. Space is at a premium. My work space is where my wife parks her car in the carport. So, after any work, I need to move everything up against the wall to make room for her car. I can fold up the saw and stand nicely and place it in a corner for storage quite easily. It’s nice to be able to wheel around the table saw. The stand is very sturdy and I really like the saw. It came with no manual, so I watched lots of videos and practiced with it before making an all important cut. I even made a simple wide push stick. It took the better part of half a day - to learn and learn how to be careful... Add to that, from Harbor Freight, I bought a roller stand with end guides for out feeds from the table saw as well as support for long boards in a pocket jig. $25 plus tax. Well made support. Money well spent. I can't recommend the cheaper of the two roller stands that HF sells. It's cheaply made and not sturdy. The one I bought for $6 more is well made, surdy and has edge guides on it. A lot more for 6 bucks.
Cheers,
Rod
