Hello VTT, I have just acquired a Shasta 13'7" with a VIN on the trailer tongue (thanks for the info to help me find that). It is P 2169. I've seen somewhere on this site that the P indicates manufacture in the Pennsylvania factory. What year, sequence and model are indicated by the numbers?...Thanks!

Your Shasta is a 1964 made at Leola, Pennsylvania plant #3. That facility made several models. You need to post photos for us to tell you the model. [/div]

Hi Buttercup, In another thread you were asking another member for dimensions of the cabinets. I think it's really important that you post a picture of the trailer so we can see what model it is. From your VIN it looks to be a Compact model, but a picture would really clarify and also help you as well. Flickr For help with cabinet dimensions, I would recommend going to a few rallies in your area. Usually, there is a Shasta Compact at one of these. If you find one, you could ask the owner to let you take measurements. Just an idea. Another idea is poking around the now mothballed Shasta Forum. vintageshasta.proboards.com/board/48/shasta-model-specification-identification-database A lot of the links have gone bad, but check out the sig lines on member posts for their blogs. You might find one that mirrors your experience. It's a long shot, but maybe worth the effort? We also have our own Shasta section of the forum. Cheers, Rod

Hello Rod, Thanks so much for your reply and also NCCamper. I've taken photos and downloaded to Flickr. But my computer and internet is extremely slow, so I'm not sure if the URL attached is going to work. I am very certain that mine is an Airflyte...not a compact. While it measures 16 to the tongue coupler...the body is 13.7 and the layout based on remaining footprint clues is that of the Airflytes I've seen on line. I've jumped into this hobby when this Shasta came into my possession although the mobile homes have intrique me for many years. I have antique cars and boats, so this is a natural progression. I am not a cabinet maker and don't have the workspace really to take this down from the skins to the deck, so I may be in over my skill set. I'm going to approach this according to the Hippocratic Oath to "do no harm". But my Shast has been seriously molested up to this point. I'm wondering if someone started to to a restoration...then gave up. The trailer and floor is solid, even most of the framing, the skins decent. The logos lights and one jalousie window are missing. Judging from what remains, I can't imagine that the missing logos and light were in salvagible condition....so why remove them...and the interior? I'll take your advice to attend a rally although my search shows there are none nearby anytime soon. I'd really like to speak with someone on the Forum to get some advice....so I'd welcome calls. Your trailer looks like an Airflyte to me. It is considered a 16 foot trailer rather than 13.7. I'm guessing yours may be slightly under 16', that is the length of many Airflytes. Congrats on a nice trailer!
