I noticed when taking my camper skin off that the window frame is not nailed together, but has aluminum strap holding the frame work together.
Would I be correct that this is for flexibility or should I build my frame with dowels
Thanks

Forgot to mention that this is also done on the rear cargo frame work.

Hi Jim,
We need to see the window framing and the trailer it came out of. Can you post some pictures? This would hugely help.

Thank Rod
These aluminum straps are both used on the windows and the cargo wood frame

Thank Rod These aluminum straps are both used on the windows and the cargo wood frame I believe that the straps I’m referring to ,are called strong tie straps. They have six holes in them for nails. Just wondering if it would be better to use dowels instead of these straps.

Okay. I see what you mean now. Keep to the original design with those straps.
