I guess I'm not supposed to be on this forum because my jewel is a 1971 Holidare 1600. I didn't realize it was not considered vintage. ( Looks pretty old to me) Its definitely a fixer upper and my first trailer. I hope nobody minds if I just look around at all the great info here and I'll try not to ask questions. If it matters I am vintage (67) so maybe that will help. Thanks Frank

Welcome, welcome, welcome! There are plenty of folks here who have 1970s campers. Those of us who have walked the Earth for seven or more decades have learned to be pretty tolerant. Seventies trailers, especially early ones, have their own zeitgeist, and it’s as different from the early sixties as it is from the early 90s. The most important thing is to make sure you do the repairs that it needs, and do them right. Make it your own and celebrate its unique “70s-ness.” Stick around, you’ll learn a lot. And by the way, we LOVE pictures here.
Hamlet and his people wish you many years of happy camping!

Thanks alot Hamlet I will really appreciate the amazing amount of knowledge available here. I am a bit of a perfectionist and I want to do as good a job as possible. ( budget allowing of course ) I am a retired mechanic and have done quite a bit of woodwork ( got a ton of tools collected up over the years ) so I'm kind of looking forward to this. There doesn't seem to be a lot of water damage but I will need to look a lot closer after reading some of these posts. What's the best way to see if its still attached to the frame. I looked at the pics here on highway separation and I definitely don't need that to happen.

Welcome!
As the years go by we have to expect people with new campers (just kidding) to join.

The previous owner gutted out the front portion of my trailer. I see now he had a window leak at the very least. The rest of the unit is intact and complete. I am trying to set up a flickr account now so I can post some pics of my new pearl. All the interior stuff is still piled inside and I have to find a place for storage. ( the squirrels here love to move into stored cushions when I bag them and leave them in the garage) I used to use PB but as with most others I had enough of there tooo dooo and deleted everything a long time ago. I hope the old post I read on here about setting up flickr is still current. Thanks Guy's Frank
